Graduate Board of Visitors Welcomes 9 New Members
Nine Duke alumni have joined the Graduate School Board of Visitors (GBOV) in 2024. Established in 2010, GBOV serves an important advisory function for TGS, comprising alumni from a broad geographic area and representing the comprehensive nature of The Graduate School.
New GBOV Members
Samagya Banskota is an assistant professor at Boston University and co-founder and senior scientist at Nvelop Therapeutics. She earned her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Duke in 2019.
Ninita Brown is a cataract and glaucoma surgeon at Emory University. She earned her Ph.D. in bioengineering and biomedical engineering at Duke in 2006 and her M.D. in 2009.
Delisa Clay is a senior global program manager at Amgen. She earned her Ph.D. in cell biology at Duke in 2021.
Travis Dauwalter is the senior director of offer management at Sustainable Building Tech at Honeywell. He earned his Ph.D. in public policy and economics at Duke in 2021.
Jeannie Karl is the senior director in pharma partnering transactions at Genentech, Inc., a member of the Roche Group. She earned her Ph.D. in cell biology at Duke in 2000.
Kivanc Kirgiz is the vice president of Cornerstone Research. He earned his Ph.D. in economics at Duke in 2001.
John A. Robson is a retired biomedical researcher, educator, and academic administrator. He earned his bachelor's in biology at Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 1970, and his Ph.D. at Duke in anatomy in 1977.
Rebecca Stafford is the founder and managing partner of Hestia Venture Partners. She earned her master's in economics at Duke in 2002.
Ed Thomas is a climate innovation consultant helping companies create climate innovation strategies and adopt new technologies. He earned his bachelor's in economics and history at Duke in 1998.
