Anthony Laffoley is Director of Design and Client Engagement with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Development, where he collaborates with clients to co-develop solutions that drive results in alignment with their business needs and culture. In his role, Anthony directs every phase of the learning design process, including needs analysis, high-level and detailed design, faculty selection, program orchestration, measurement of impact, and continuous improvement. Anthony joined UNC Executive Development in 2011, bringing a wealth of multinational experience. Among other roles, he led the global organizational development function at Alliance One International, supporting employees in countries across five continents. Working with mostly Fortune 500 companies, Anthony’s industry experience includes agriculture, digital services, distribution, energy, financial services, government, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, technology, and transportation. With a background in psychology, Anthony is a certified coach and currently sits on the board of the Raleigh/Durham Chapter of American Psychological Type. He is a skilled and passionate facilitator, mentor, trainer, and coach, committed to the development of others. Originally from the island of Jersey in the English Channel, Anthony enjoys giving back as a coach and mentor as a volunteer in The First Tee program, helping youth to develop life and leadership skills through golf.

Kristin Murphy has worked as both an independent consultant and marketing professional and has held roles specific to change management and leadership development, sales training, strategic planning and market research. She is currently Vice President for Private Equity and Partnerships with Entromy. While employed at Nortel Networks, Dr. Murphy led the change management program associated with a major business model and product development transition. She also served as the expert consultant to the executive board of Nortel’s $3B Optical Network business and led the development of company-wide executive strategy and innovation sessions. Dr. Murphy was selected for Nortel’s high-potential leadership program which led to her transition to senior-line management positions in strategic marketing and planning. She joined SAS in 2006 to establish a new department focused on strategic marketing research and competitive intelligence. In 2015, Dr. Murphy became Associate Director for Organization Development at PAREXEL, and in 2017 she joined Ellucian as Vice President for Market Strategy and Research. She served as a Principal consultant with Green Peak Partners starting in 2019, with a focus on leadership development, talent assessment, and organization effectiveness, before returning to PAREXEL as Senior Director & Head of the Change Management & Adoption Center of Excellence in late 2020. Dr. Murphy graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University, studied at Universität Freiburg and has a M.S. and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in Psychology. In addition to her membership on the Park Advisory Board, Dr. Murphy also serves on the Advisory Board for the NC State Poole College of Management Executive Education program.

Melissa Bostrom

Melissa Bostrom is assistant dean for graduate student professional development in The Graduate School at Duke and director of the Emerging Leaders Institute. She is co-PI on The Graduate School's Duke OPTIONS project, funded by the Council of Graduate Schools ETS/CGS Award for Innovation in Promoting Success in Graduate Education. Bostrom has been invited to speak nationally as well as internationally on graduate student professional development and is a member of the Graduate Career Consortium. In her previous position as director of graduate academic and professional development at North Carolina State University, Bostrom co-created the Graduate Leadership Development Series (GLDS) with Dr. Lanny Hass, Eleanor Stell, and Dr. Rhonda Sutton. Originally funded through a grant from the Procter & Gamble Higher Education Foundation, the GLDS program served graduate students at NC State from 2010 to 2013; the Emerging Leaders Institute at Duke grew out of the GLDS program. Bostrom has spent two decades working in higher education, including serving as assistant professor of management and corporate communication at Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and teaching in the English departments of UNC and NC State. She has also worked in corporate human resources and technical recruiting.  She received her B.A. in English and psychology from Denison University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from UNC.
