The Duke Graduate School Few-Glasson Alumni Society recognizes graduates of the school who have distinguished themselves through their career accomplishments, the potential of their current endeavors, or their support for graduate students and graduate education at Duke.
The honor is named for William Preston Few and William Henry Glasson. Few, the first president of Duke University, oversaw the creation of The Graduate School and was a strong supporter of graduate education at Duke. Glasson was a professor of political economy and social sciences at Duke and the first dean of The Graduate School, serving in that role from 1926 to 1938.
