Students enrolled in the Graduate Liberal Studies program who are traveling for research for their master's project or to present a paper at an academic conference.
Through the generosity of the late Lottie Applewhite, an alumna of the Graduate Liberal Studies program, the Lottie Applewhite Award Endowment Fund was established to recognize scholarly excellence by providing support to students and faculty who make significant contributions to Graduate Liberal Studies at Duke University. The Lottie Applewhite Travel Awards provide up to $1,000 to students enrolled in the GLS program toward travel for research for the Master’s Project or to present a paper at an academic conference. Award recipients are selected by the GLS program. Additional awards and specific criteria will be announced in the future.
