Networking Event: Career Options for STEM PhDs

Want to build connections with the local biotech/pharma community and learn more about industry careers? Graduate students and postdocs are invited to attend a networking event at the North Carolina Biotech Center. Guests will include local researchers, entrepreneurs, consultants, CEOs, venture capitalists, tech transfer specialists, and patent specialists from organizations like Burroughs Wellcome Fund, Enzerna, Immunai, Incyclix Bio, Metabolon, MethodSense, Myers Bigel PA, Scion NeuroStim, and many others in the area.

This event is a networking and career education opportunity, not a job fair. You do not need to bring your CV or résumé. Professional attire is recommended.

Agenda:

  • 8:30-9:15 am: Registration and Continental Breakfast 
  • 9:15-9:45 am:  Industry Professional Flash Talks
  • 9:45 am-12:00 pm: Networking with Industry Representatives

Pre-registration is required for admission. This event is organized by Sigma Xi, Duke Graduate School, Duke Postdoctoral Services, UNC Office of Science, Training and Diversity, and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.

Note that this event is not on Duke's campus but at the NC Biotech Center. While parking is free, transportation is not provided.
