Career Options for STEM Ph.D.s Networking Event
Want to build connections with the local biotech/pharma community and learn more about industry careers? Graduate students and postdocs are invited to attend a networking event at the North Carolina Biotech Center. Guests will include local researchers, entrepreneurs, consultants, CEOs, venture capitalists, tech transfer specialists, and patent specialists.
This event is a networking and career education opportunity, not a job fair. You do not need to bring your CV or résumé. Professional attire is recommended.
Agenda:
- 8:30-9:15 am: Registration and Continental Breakfast
- 9:15-9:30 am: Industry Professional Flash Talks
- 9:45 am-12:00 pm: Networking with Industry Representatives
Pre-registration is required for admission. The $10 registration fee covers the cost of a light breakfast and helps to maintain a 1:3 networking ratio between industry guests and trainees.
This event is organized by Sigma Xi, Duke Postdoctoral Services, Duke Alumni Engagement and Development, UNC Office of Science, Training and Diversity, and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
Additional Location Information
Note that this event is not on Duke's campus but at the NC Biotech Center. While parking is free, transportation is not provided.
