The Art and Science of Mentoring: The Art of Connection
Integrating evidence-based mentoring case studies with insights from the “helping professions” of counseling and coaching, this in-person series synthesizes the art of relational attunement with the science of structured, evidence-based mentoring. Faculty participants will strengthen their ability to mentor with empathy, clarity, and confidence, building relationships that foster growth, inclusion, and resilience.
The session will run from 10:00am–12:00pm, with lunch provided. An optional discussion will continue until 1:00pm.
Session 2: The Art of Connection
Building trust through authentic communication
- Practice active listening, feedback, and presence.
- Create psychological safety and mutual respect in mentoring relationships
- Build warm, trusting relationships within the context of professional roles and boundaries
This session has been approved for two hours of RCR credit and is intended for graduate faculty.
