Graduating Duke doctoral students received their hoods at the Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony on May 11, 2019, at the Durham Convention Center. The Graduate School also recognized Jane De Hart ('58, Ph.D.'67 History), recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. More than 1,500 attended the ceremony, including 250 Ph.D. graduates. In all, 375 Ph.D. candidates and 623 M.A. and M.S. candidates graduated in the 2018-2019 academic year.
