Let's Talk About Climate Change Communication Fellows (TAs) Opportunity

Applications due March 15

Trinity College of Arts & Sciences invites Duke graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to apply to serve as a 2025 Let’s Talk About Climate Change (LTACC) Communication Fellow. They are seeking eager and enthusiastic instructors who are interested in climate change to facilitate undergraduate learning, provide diverse perspectives, and enhance student experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet and work directly with climate experts from across the Duke faculty, to hone teaching skills, and to improve knowledge of climate change issues.

About the LTACC Fellowship

Let’s Talk About Climate Change will approach climate change from multiple disciplinary perspectives and expose students to diverse inquiry and knowledge generation methods. Communication Fellow applications are welcomed from graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from all schools and with any level of teaching experience.

Climate Change Communication Fellows are expected to:

  1. Participate in a daylong orientation the week before classes begin.
  2. Attend two hourlong seminars prior to the first day of class that will help them learn how to address contentious topics in the classroom and incorporate active learning exercises in their discussion sections.
  3. Commit 4-5 hours in instruction and grading per week (inclusive of class time, which comprises 2.5 hours).
  4. Assist the instructors by participating in at least two co-curricular activities of their choice during the semester.
  5. Engage with our Faculty Fellows and help them prepare for their conversations.

You can find a full job description on Duke Box here.

Selected Communication Fellows will be compensated with $3050 for their efforts.
