Writing Group Kickoff for English-as-a-Second-Language Humanities Ph.D. Students

Monday, August 21, 2017
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

This writing group is open to all humanities Ph.D. students with English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) background at Duke, and especially those who are in the process of applying for an academic job during fall 2017 or in the near future.

The goal of the writing group is to bring ESL graduate students together to help each other in writing successful academic job applications. The writing group is designed to give participants a concrete professional development experience tailored to group members' specific needs by sharing our application materials, receiving constructive feedback, and getting help in improving our English writing skills.

The writing group is student-led and will meet monthly during fall 2017. Its goals will be set around group members' needs. For more information and to apply, contact Filippo Screpanti at fcs9@duke.edu

This writing group is sponsored in part by The Graduate School's Professional Development Grant.
