An Engineering Ph.D.’s Career Path in Venture Capital

Join us for an informal conversation and networking lunch with Duke Ph.D. Mudit K. Jain. Learn how he launched a successful career in venture capital through his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. Mudit is a Managing Director at Synergy Life Science Partners, and brings nearly two decades of experience in various functional roles including research, product development, business development, M&A, and venture capital. Mudit's career has been focused on identifying, developing, and investing in new medical device technologies serving large unmet clinical needs. Most recently, Mudit was with Johnson and Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC) as part of their management team and focused on all aspects of medical device venture investments.

Mudit graduated with a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Nagpur, India (ranked first in his class). He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.Mudit currently serves as a member on the Board of Directors of Inspire Medical Systems, Aptus Endosystems, and NeuroTronik Limited.
