Developing Your Career Management Plan

Monday, June 1, 2015
12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Are you currently focused on getting a job after graduation or after your postdoc appointment ends? Many of us get our degrees and then focus on getting a job...but we do ever really take the time to think about our CAREER?  The first job may be a step in the right direction…or it may not.  Planning out our career path needs to start before we look for that first job, or we need to evaluate what has been working as well as what has not been working in our current position so that the next move we make in our career is one that is both thoughtful and productive.  The reason is that the work we do is a major part of both our everyday life and our overall identity.  Therefore, giving thoughtful planning and preparation to our career is vital to our overall happiness and well-being.  This program will provide you with a map of how to develop and implement a plan for your career.  Come prepared to actively engage in building a structure for your career path and in thinking about how your current job search is tied to your career path. Our speaker will be Dr. Rhonda Sutton, Founder and Counselor at Claritas Counseling and Consultation, Inc.

Delicious pizza will be served! Bring your favorite beverage to enjoy.
