Career Choices for Ph.D. Scientists in the Age of Biotech: How to Decide Which Path is Right for You

Thursday, January 22, 2015
9:30 am to 11:00 am

In this presentation, William Schrader, Ph.D., will discuss the pros and cons of academic, industry, and government research. If you’re considering a career in academia, government, or industry, or you’re not quite sure which path to take, you won’t want to miss this informative workshop.

Dr. Schrader, Deputy Scientific Director, NIEHS, is well equipped to explain the differences between academic, industry, and government jobs in the biotech era—since receiving his  Ph.D. in 1969, he has been a tenured research PI, an academic administrator, an industry executive, and a US government official.

This workshop is open to all graduate students and postdocs and is part of the Careers Beyond Academia series co-sponsored by The Graduate School, the Office of Postdoctoral Services, and the Career Center.
