Lauren Anderson, PhD, and Brandon Hall, PhDOn November 4, our guests are Lauren Anderson, PhD, Director, and Brandon Hall, PhD, Research Development Associate, from the Duke Surgery Office of Research Development. Lauren holds a PhD in Neurobiology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University, and was a Duke postdoc in the Department of Neurology. Brandon holds a PhD in Pharmacology from Georgia Health Sciences University (now Augusta University) and a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina at Aiken, and was a Duke postdoc in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

The Duke Surgery Office of Research Development provides strategic guidance, scientific editing and proposal development support for complex,individual investigator, and training grant proposals.  In addition to discussing their academic administration roles at Duke, Lauren and Brandon will talk about the transferable skills that are sought-after qualities for these types of academic jobs.
