2015 Emerging Leaders Institute
This spring, The Graduate School will host the second annual Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI), co-sponsored by the Office of Postdoctoral Services. Open to all Graduate School students and postdocs at Duke, ELI’s six-part program gives students and postdocs experience in project management and interdisciplinary team building while also providing professional development guidance for their time at Duke and beyond.
Participants from last year’s Institute found that the program energized their creative and critical thinking skills through oral presentations and hands-on work with a team of their peers. Along with learning effective management skills, participants also received useful feedback on their leadership behaviors and tendencies, particularly through personality assessments.
