Duke Graduate School

The David and Elizabeth Roderick Scholarship Fund will provide a $10,000 tuition scholarship to each of four new students enrolled in a Master’s of Fine Arts program in The Graduate School at Duke University.

The Dean’s Graduate Fellowships are four-year awards provided to students who—by reason of their background, culture, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, work, and life experiences—contribute to a fuller representation of perspectives within the academic life of the University. This award is offered through The Graduate School. Incoming students are nominated by their department; no direct application is necessary.

Through the generosity of the E. Bayard Halsted Scholarship, The Graduate School offers two competitive fellowships for graduate students who earned their undergraduate degree from any department at Duke University and who are, or shall be at the time of receipt of this scholarship, pursuing advanced studies at Duke University in science, history, or journalism.

Through the generosity of the Evan Frankel Endowment, The Graduate School is offering two competitive fellowships for advanced students in the write-up stage of their dissertation

These awards go to doctoral students past course work and engaged in the early stages of dissertation research.

The internship is for the new University Center of Exemplary Mentoring at Duke. It’s funded by a three-year grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

The Graduate School offers three administrative internships. These are nine-month internships, running from September 1 to May 31. Each internship provides an annual stipend (equivalent to the Graduate School-recommended Arts and Sciences nine-month stipend established each year), as well as tuition and mandatory fees. In addition, The Graduate School will pay the health insurance premium for recipients who enroll in the Duke Student Medical Insurance Plan.

Through the generosity of the Gurney Harriss Kearns Foundation for Graduate Study in Religion Endowment Fund, this fellowship supports advanced-year students in the Religion Ph.D. program. It provides summer and/or academic-year tuition, fees, and a stipend at the school rate.

Through the generosity of the Hung Taiwan-Duke University Fellowship Fund, this fellowship provides academic and summer tuition, fees, and a stipend at the school rate for years 1-2 for Ph.D.
