The Graduate School offers three administrative internships. These are nine-month internships, running from September 1 to May 31. Each internship provides an annual stipend (equivalent to the Graduate School-recommended Arts and Sciences nine-month stipend established each year), as well as tuition and mandatory fees. In addition, The Graduate School will pay the health insurance premium for recipients who enroll in the Duke Student Medical Insurance Plan.

The James B. Duke International Research Travel Fellowship provides an annual stipend (equivalent to the Graduate School-recommended Arts and Sciences nine-month stipend established each year), as well as tuition, mandatory fees and a $2,000 travel allowance for students who need to conduct their dissertation research abroad for the duration of the academic year, both fall and spring semesters. In addition, The Graduate School will pay the health insurance premium for recipients who enroll in the Duke Student Medical Insurance Plan.

The Jo Rae Wright Fellowship for Outstanding Women in Science was created in memory of our dear friend and colleague who served as dean of The Graduate School from 2006 until 2011. This fellowship is funded through an endowment given in her name to recognize two Ph.D.
