A2i Parker-Lord Company Site Visit
Parker-Lord is a diversified technology and manufacturing company that develops adhesives, coatings, motion management devices, and sensing technologies for industries such as aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and industrial. With world headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, Parker-Lord has approximately 3,100 employees in 26 countries and operates 19 manufacturing facilities and 10 R&D centers worldwide. As of October 30, 2019, the company was acquired by Parker Hannifin.
This event provides PhD students and postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to explore Parker-Lord through an in-person site visit. This event provides the opportunity to hear from early career professionals who have made the transition from their degree program, leadership within the company, and see the job environment through a tour through the facilities.
Space is limited to the first 13 registered PhD students.
A2i is a program at Duke helping PhD students find, apply for, and secure employment outside academia. The content, industry partners, and guest presenters will be tailored for STEM, humanities and social science doctoral candidates. This is an in-person company visit that includes traveling to Cary, NC (about 30 minutes' drive from Duke West Campus). Participants are welcomed to drive or carpool; however, if you need transportation please email angela.bonner@duke.edu by Monday, November 4, at 5:00 p.m. If you plan to drive there yourself, please be sure to allow for the travel time.
