EIS has partnered with the Duke Law School to offer the following language services:
EIS 1-on-1 Consultations (International J.D. Students)
Incoming international J.D. students complete the EIS placement exams upon arrival at Duke to assess their proficiency in written and spoken English.
During the academic year, EIS provides international J.D. students one-hour, one-on-one consultations focusing on specific language issues (e.g., pronunciation, grammar, presentation skills, writing skills). Students should come to each session with a specific task or assignment, as well as a list of specific goals.
Contact Brad Teague at brad.teague@duke.edu to make an appointment.
EIS Small-Group Consultations (LL.M. Students)
During the academic year, EIS provides LL.M. students one-hour, small-group consultations focusing on specific language issues (e.g., word choice, grammar). Legal writing faculty refer qualifying students to the program. Students should bring writing samples, not including graded assignments or assignments submitted for a course, to each session.
