ETD Technical Help
For questions about formatting or submitting your thesis/dissertation electronically, first please refer to the Duke Graduate School Guide for Electronic Submission of Thesis and Dissertations (pdf).
If you are using MS Word 2003, there is a template available on the Graduate School's website that contains a great deal of step-by-step instruction on correct formatting: Duke_University_Dissertation_Template2010.doc. For help with MS Word (page numbering, section breaks, etc.) visit the OIT Free Technology Training page or call the OIT help desk at 684-2200.
A zip file of the LaTeX template for Duke theses/dissertations is available here:
http://gradschool.duke.edu/policies_and_forms/dukedissertation-0.4.tar1.gz. For help with LaTeX, please consult http://www.eng.cam.ac.uk/help/tpl/textprocessing. Note that neither the Graduate School nor OIT is able to provide extensive support for LaTeX beyond the template linked above.
